This was a solo trip as neither Angie nor Ash could make it for one reason or another. I had a hard time getting to Luton airport as the M1 was closed because of an accident. I managed to check in with 10 minutes to spare. After passing through customs, I discovered the plane was late. On board we were told it was because the original pilot was delayed on the M1! Lisbon was fine, but it is very hilly and all the pavements are built of small cobbles which make it very difficult to walk. It’s really quite cheap to eat there. I visited Baixa (the old town), Alfama (the castle and cathedral) area, I walked all over the Bairro Alto (which is extremely hilly), took a tram out to Belém. The final full day it rained, so I went out to the Aquarium at the old Expo site. It was a good short break.
