Weekend in Berlin

Photos from my long weekend with Angie, in Berlin 22^nd - 25^th July 2004. It was my first time flying on a budget airline (easyJet in this case) and I was impressed. The weather was hot, apart from the first day, when it really rained. A few years ago in London, there were various painted cows in the streets. There was a similar thing in Berlin, only here they had Buddy Bears! We went in the Reichstag, saw the Brandenburg Gate, walked along the Unter den Linden and Kurfürstendamm. We were stopped from going in to the Hotel Adlon (we were too common I think)! We went up the TV tower in former East Berlin, saw the renovated old town. Visited the remains of the wall and Checkpoint Charlie. We went to the Jewish and Checkpoint Charlie Museums. Had a boat ride on the Spree and climbed the Berliner Dom. We also were lucky enough to see some of the Terracotta Army, which was as excellent as it was unexpected. Like all good tourists we shopped at KaDeWe. Yep, we had a good time, though our feet ached like hell afterwards!
