Holiday in Aruba

Aruba apparently, gets 16 inches of rain a year. I think most of it fell during our second week! Luckily it mostly rained when we were asleep. The island is famous for being windy, but despite Hurricane Wilma bashing up the rest of the Caribbean, we seemed to have a lot less wind than we were expecting. It certainly wasn't as windy as The Gambia. We had a good holiday. We mostly just zonked in the sun, tho' we did a couple of trips. We went on a bar crawl (a first for Angie, who has led a very sheltered life!) and a boat trip to De Palm Island, picturesquely situated opposite the oil refinery, where we went sand sledding and on a Wind Rider catamaran. We also hired a little 4x4 and toured the island. This was really good fun, especially as there are no roads as such at the top of the island, where most of the attractions appear to be! We saw the natural bridge, Aruba's most famous landmark, unfortunately, it collapsed on the 2^nd of September! We also met a few interesting people at the hotel (see the photo's). Lot's of these photo's are actually Angie's, but I'm not saying which! There are also 4 video clips, if they don't start, right click and save them!
